Overview

Animation has been a long-standing interest for me, shaped by an early love for animated films and storytelling. Over time, this curiosity evolved into a hands-on exploration of stop-motion animation as a medium for expressing personal journeys and communicating complex ideas through movement, timing, and emotion.

These projects reflect how I use motion not just as a visual skill, but as a way to think, reflect, and tell stories whether it’s navigating a career transition or translating a system-level concept into something more human and accessible.

Why Motion Matters to Me

Why Motion Matters to Me

Motion allows stories to unfold gradually. It creates room for pause, rhythm, and emotion qualities that felt essential when exploring themes of transition, identity, and work. This practice sits at the intersection of creativity and sense-making, complementing how I approach design more broadly.

This stop-motion film was created after completing my degree in architecture, during a period of transition and exploration. The animation traces the different paths I considered before finding my way into UX design, using metaphor and movement to express uncertainty, growth, and change.

Working with early-stage startups such as PLVI Studios and Plutozy offered a different kind of freedom and responsibility. With minimal constraints and evolving brand definitions, the focus was on creating foundational identities that could grow with the company.

Weave : Designing for Freelancers & Gig Workers

Created as part of the 'Design Innovation, Planning & Implementation' (DMGT720) course, Weave explores the lived realities of freelancers and gig workers navigating fragmented systems of work. Animation was used as a storytelling layer to communicate the platform’s intent creating space, belonging, and access to the right opportunities by making an abstract system feel more personal and relatable.

Learnings & Career Impact

Learnings & Career Impact

Passion sustains practice. Exploring animation reinforced how personal interest can deepen creative confidence and experimentation.

Motion enables empathy. Storytelling through animation helped communicate emotion and complexity in ways static formats often cannot.

Narrative strengthens design. These explorations continue to influence how I think about experience, systems, and communication in my design work.
